What Cashifi collects when you apply for funding, why we collect it, who we send it to, and what you can ask us to do about it.

Effective September 12, 2026

Who we are

Cashifi operates a small-business funding marketplace. We are not a lender. We collect an application from a business owner, match it against the criteria of lending partners, and pass it to the partners that fit so they can make an offer. Lending decisions, rates and terms are the lender's, not ours.

We are paid by our lending partners when a business we refer is funded. We do not charge the business an upfront fee for using Cashifi.

Information we collect

We collect what an underwriter needs to evaluate a business, and not more than that.

  • Contact details — name, email address, phone number.
  • Business details — legal and trading name, entity type, industry, address, time in business, employee count, website, and your federal tax ID (EIN).
  • Owner details — for each owner with a 20% or greater stake: name, home address, date of birth, ownership percentage, and Social Security number where a lender requires it for identity verification and credit review.
  • Financial details — requested amount, use of funds, monthly and annual revenue, existing debt and positions, card processing volume.
  • Documents you upload — bank statements, a voided check, a driver's licence, and anything else a lender asks for.
  • Bank data, only if you choose to connect an account — we use Plaid to retrieve read-only account and transaction information. We never receive or store your banking credentials.
  • Credit information — at pre-qualification we obtain a soft credit inquiry, which does not affect your credit score. A lender you proceed with may later run a hard inquiry, which can.
  • Usage data — pages viewed, referring site, approximate location from IP address, device and browser, and how you moved through the application.

How we use it

We use your information to run the marketplace and to stay in contact about your application.

  • To match your application with lending partners and present you with offers.
  • To verify identity, prevent fraud, and meet anti-money-laundering and other legal obligations.
  • To contact you about your application by email, phone, text message or in the portal.
  • To send marketing about funding products, which you can stop at any time.
  • To improve the product — measuring which parts of the application people abandon, and which funding options fit which businesses.

Who we share it with

The core of the service is sharing your application with lenders, and applying is how you ask us to do that.

  • Lending partners — we send your application and supporting documents to the partners whose criteria your business fits, so they can decide whether to make an offer. Each partner then handles your information under its own privacy policy.
  • Service providers who work for us — hosting, database, email and text delivery, document storage, bank-data connection, credit reporting agencies, analytics and fraud prevention. They may use your information only to provide their service to us.
  • Legal and safety — where the law requires it, or to investigate fraud or protect people's rights and safety.
  • A business transfer — if the business is sold or merged, your information would move with it, subject to this policy.

What we do not do

  • We do not sell your personal information.
  • We do not share your information for cross-context behavioural advertising.
  • We do not post your application publicly or list it on any exchange.

Marketing, email and text messages

When you apply, you agree that we and our lending partners may contact you about your application, including by automated means, at the phone number and email address you give us. Consent to marketing texts is never a condition of getting funding.

Every marketing email carries a one-click unsubscribe. Reply STOP to any text message to stop texts. You can also set your preferences per channel and per message type from your portal, and we keep a record of every consent and opt-out, including when it happened and where it came from. An opt-out does not stop service messages about an application already in progress.

Cookies and tracking

We use cookies and similar technologies for things the site cannot work without — signing you in, keeping your application progress, and security — and to understand how the site is used so we can improve it. A banner lets you accept or decline the non-essential ones on your first visit, and the footer link reopens that choice at any time.

We honour Global Privacy Control and other browser-level opt-out signals where the law requires it.

How long we keep it

We keep application data for as long as your relationship with us is active and afterwards for as long as we need it to meet legal, tax, audit and anti-fraud obligations — typically several years for financial records. Consent and opt-out records are kept for as long as we may need to prove them, which can be longer than the underlying application.

You can ask us to delete your information, and we will unless we are required to keep it.

How we protect it

Your data is encrypted in transit and at rest. Sensitive identifiers such as Social Security numbers are encrypted at the field level. Uploaded documents live in private storage that is never publicly readable, and access is limited to staff who need it for your file and is logged.

No system is perfectly secure, and we will tell you and the relevant regulator if a breach affects you, as the law requires.

Your rights

Depending on where you live you may have the right to know what personal information we hold, to get a copy of it, to correct it, to delete it, to limit how we use sensitive information, and to opt out of sale or sharing — we do neither. We will not treat you differently for exercising any of these rights.

To make a request, email help@cashifi.com. We will verify your identity before we act, and we will respond within the time the law allows.

California residents have these rights under the CCPA as amended by the CPRA. Residents of other states with comprehensive privacy laws have similar rights. As a financial services provider we are also subject to the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act, and information covered by GLBA is handled under that framework.

Children

Cashifi is for business owners and is not directed to anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes

If we change this policy we will update the effective date at the top, and we will tell you directly if the change materially affects how we use information you have already given us.
